The recent proliferation of social media has caused companies large and small to explore new ways to expand market base, enhance communication and increase efficiencies. However, the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors are lagging in their understanding and use of these online tools and how they can help advance their organizations’ missions.

Join us for a lively, interactive conversation where you will gain a better understanding of social media and how your foundation can use it. During this session you will learn:

  • What is social media;
  • The types of social media tools, including Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogging, Flickr, and YouTube, and how to use them;
  • What policy implications these new forms of communication have for your organization; and
  • How these online tools can complement your organization’s communications plan.

No prior knowledge is required to attend this program.

Cost
Free for OGF members and eligible nonmember grantmakers.
