County Change
sponsored by PNC

In November 2009 voters in Cuyahoga County approved by a 2-to-1 margin a change in the governance structure of county government – moving from a three commissioner model to a county executive and an 11 member council.  Since then, hundreds of citizens have been involved in helping develop recommendations about the structure of the new county government. These recommendations will be presented to the new County Executive and Council which will chosen in a special election in September, 2010.

Funders heard details about the transition planning from James McCafferty ,Cuyahoga County Administrator and co-chair of the County Transition Committee, and Sister Joanne Gross, Senior Projects Coordinator and County Council Planning Workgroup, at a breakfast meeting on Friday, March 26.
