Abbott Nutrition Working directly with humanitarian partners to help address the growing health care crisis, Abbott is expanding its support for relief efforts in Haiti. The company will provide $2.5 million in grant funding and donations of critical pharmaceutical and nutritional products to humanitarian aid organizations. An initial quantity of Abbott pharmaceutical and nutritional products are already in use in several locations in Haiti as a result of prior work with Direct Relief International to strategically pre-position essential health care products in preparation for potential natural disasters. These products include antibiotics, rehydration solutions and additional nutritional products that are in critical need following the earthquake in Haiti. American Electric Power As of Feb. 5, 1,067 AEP employees have donated a total of $103,330 for Haitian relief through the AEP Emergency Disaster Relief Fund. The company is matching dollar-for-dollar for a total of $206,660 to be divided equally among the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and UNICEF. ArcelorMittal $100,000 to Doctors Without Borders Cardinal Health is donating approximately $1 million worth of supplies through four organizations: World Vision, AmeriCares, Map International and Heart to Heart International. Donations will include emergency medical supplies such as protective caps and gowns; more than 3,500 cases of industrial, exam and surgical gloves; bandages and dressings; needles and syringes; surgical sutures and staplers; basic surgical kits; and hygiene kits for adults, infants and children (items such as diapers, wipes, soap, and other essential items). The Cardinal Health Foundation is donating $25,000 to World Vision to purchase supplies, which will be combined with donations from a variety of other sources to create family survival kits. These kits will provide a family of five with basic necessities such as shelter, cooking supplies and hygiene supplies for a week. In addition, Cardinal Health employees are making financial contributions to World Vision for this relief effort. To date, employees have donated over $60,000, which is being matched 100% by the Cardinal Health Foundation. Cardinal Health is also collaborating with several of our suppliers and industry associations to assist them with product donations and other support being provided for the people of Haiti. Update: Our latest is our employees donated over $100k and we matched all contributions dollar for dollar to World Vision. CareSource Foundation The Foundation has made an emergency grant of $10,000 to the American Red Cross International Response Fund to help aid the disaster in Haiti. The donation will help provide supplies, technical assistance, efforts to reconnect families and reconstruct hospitals, schools, child care centers and neighborhoods, officials said. Read article. The Greater Cincinnati Foundation The Foundation has posted information on their website about local and national charities working on relief efforts, links to tips about how best to help in times of disaster and how to avoid fraud. Charitable donations toward these efforts from GCF donor advised funds, in just a few days, total more than $35,000. Read article. The Columbus Foundation TCF created the Haiti Disaster Relief Fund of The Columbus Foundation to make it easy for donors to support relief efforts. Everyone could choose to support up to four relief charities that comprise the fund. - We sent a broadcast e-mail to let our donors to know abut the fund, how to make gifts (through their donors advised funds, by credit card or by check).
- TCF sent an e-mail to prospects, letting them know about the fund and that gifts could easily be made through PowerPhilanthropy, our online giving resource.
- We used social media to share information, specifically Twitter and Facebook. We also created a Facebook Cause page and have received several gifts that way.

Eaton Eaton Corp. has pledged $100,000 to the American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund. In addition, the diversified manufacturer said it will match employees' donations to the United Way Worldwide Disaster Relief Fund, which helps finance long-term recovery efforts to rebuild lives and infrastructure. The fund also addresses educational, financial and health-related challenges. “It is our hope that these donations will help in easing the pain and suffering resulting from the tragic events in Haiti,” said William B. Doggett, Eaton senior vice president – public and community affairs. "We are proud to step up to help those in need and to support the very important relief efforts that are currently ongoing to help the citizens of Haiti.” Read article. Fifth Third Bank Donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross International Response First Energy Opened a Matching Gift Program for gifts to the American Red Cross International Response Fund - for employee gifts made through the local chapters in their 3 state service area. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation The Foundation is providing a $1 million grant to Catholic Relief Services (CRS), which has experienced personnel and a stock of emergency supplies in Haiti. This grant will help cover CRS’s initial relief efforts, which include addressing the immediate shelter, food, water, sanitation, health and other needs of those affected by the quake. Grange Insurance Grange opened an account in our company credit union for associates to donate to a fund we created. Grange will match all associate donations dollar for dollar. The money will go to the American Red Cross. The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati announced the donation of $25,000 to Partners in Health, a healthcare delivery organization currently providing medical care to people being evacuated from Port-au-Prince, Haiti Honda Honda announced a donation to the Red Cross of more than $300,000, as well as portable generators, water pumps, and other Honda products for use during humanitarian relief and recovery efforts in Haiti. Honda has also been in close communication with the Red Cross regarding its need for material and equipment such as generators and water pumps on site, and Honda will continue to work with the Red Cross to determine its need for such support in Haiti. The Honda donation consists of more than $300,000 in cash. This pledge will be augmented by a company matching gift available at various Honda companies, with funds designated to the Red Cross. Limited Brands The Limited Brands Foundation is pledging a $100,000 donation to relief efforts in Haiti for the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. Lubrizol In response to the devastating earthquake that has struck Haiti, Lubrizol and The Lubrizol Foundation, to date, have provided $50,000 in total cash donations to several non-profit organizations to help address the most immediate needs for disaster relief. The corporation and the Foundation are supporting: - American Red Cross International Fund: Donated funds were used for sheltering, feeding and providing emotional support to the Haitian victims.
- MedWish International: MedWish International is a non-profit organization committed to the recovery and recycling of usable medical supplies. These life-saving supplies are made available to those providing medical care in developing countries. Our donation helped to supply a plane with life-saving equipment that was flown to Haiti.
- HaitiChildren (The Mercy and Sharing Foundation): HaitiChildren support homeless children, many with handicaps. The organization has an orphanage outside of Port-au-Prince that has not been damaged. Their task is rescuing children in harms way and taking them to the orphanage. Our funds were used to help purchase a vehicle and fuel to transport the children to safety.
Lubrizol’s initial support for Haiti is in advance of our longer-term plan, which is to participate in a collaborative effort with other businesses, foundations and non-profit organizations to assist with the rebuilding of some element of Haiti’s infrastructure. This could include providing financial support, materials, products and other resources for the reconstruction of a school, orphanage or hospital. Our public affairs group is researching these opportunities and will make a recommendation to the corporation and the Foundation in the weeks ahead. The Burton D. Morgan Foundation The Burton D. Morgan Foundation has provided $10,000 to the American Red Cross for humanitarian assistance in Haiti. The grant is being channeled through the American Red Cross of Summit and Portage Counties. Nationwide Insurance Foundation The Nationwide Insurance Foundation announced a $150,000 donation to the Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief Fund. Additionally, the Nationwide Insurance Foundation will match contributions of Nationwide employees of $25 or more to the United Way Worldwide Disaster Relief Fund, which is providing assistance to victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Gifts from Nationwide employees to the United Way will also be matched by the foundation.The O’Neill Foundation The O’Neill Foundation made a $10,000 grant to the American Red Cross for Haitian relief on February 8, 2010. We are considering up to a $100,000 later this year. We are engaged in research and due diligence to determine the time and organization (s) where this grant could have the most impact.
Procter & Gamble Procter & Gamble Co. has sent 6 million water-purifying packets to Haiti and $400,000 to assist in deployment and relief. P & G also launched an employee donation effort the company will match up to $250,000.
The Reuter Foundation The Reuter Foundation has contributed $12,000 to Haitian relief through agencies that already had a presence on the ground in Haiti. We anticipate contributing more in coming days. SC Ministry Foundation The SC Ministry Foundation directed our grant to Catholic Relief Services and they have a long established presence in Haiti.
